Administrative Assistant (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a positive first impression to children, families and the general public at our Ellis Avenue site, by overseeing the Reception Desk.
  • Serve as an initial source of information for those inquiring about the BGCHH, its programs and activities.
  • Answers reception-directed phone calls, respond to front desk e-mail messages and oversee deliveries and mail
  • Provide information to children, parents and external stakeholders on programs, including schedules, locations, registration, start dates, and availability; demonstrate initiative by maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of program offerings
  • Process membership and program registration requests

Cook for Child Care Site (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all meals, snacks and kitchen management.
  • Participate in menu planning, adhere to Canada’s Food Guide, and incorporate dietary restrictions/requests of all participants
  • Ensure compliance with all Public Health regulations and guidelines and inspection recommendations. 
  • Be a primary contact, along with the appropriate Supervisor, for Public Health communication and inspections
  • Prepare, cook and serve the menus, ensuring that all foods are nutritious and appetizing in appearance/taste.  
  • Determine portions/serving with the appropriate site employees and ensure both quantity and nutritional needs of primarily children/youth are consistently met.

Let's Get Moving Facilitator (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

● Develop and deliver engaging physical activity, nutrition and health & wellness based
programming for children in grades 1-6, in high priority neighbourhoods across the City
of Hamilton
● Create a welcoming environment for children that encourages daily participation
● Maintain professional and respectful relationships with fellow employees, supervisors,
school staff, parents/guardians and community members.

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Will provide safe, effective and efficient delivery of BGC Hamilton-Halton aquatics programming including supervision of camp swims, open swims, lane swims, swimming lessons, and aquafit.  
  • Administration of first aid and pool maintenance, including but not limited to pool tests, vacuuming and cleaning.

Seniors Program Lead (Part-Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver inclusive and engaging, programs for seniors;
  • Create a welcoming environment that encourages participation, belonging, expression, and wellbeing;
  • Promote learning and a healthy lifestyle while implementing recreational and creative activities;
  • Set-up and clean-up program area after use;
  • Follow all guidelines as set out by BGC Hamilton Halton;
  • Ensure program health and safety protocols are followed.

  • Develop programming geared to newcomer adults and youth

  • Develop relationships with community partners

Board Treasurer CPA (Volunteer)

The Treasurer provides financial expertise to the Board. New term to begin in September 2022. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review with the Executive Director and Finance Manager all income and expenditures of the Organization,
  • Provide regular reports to the Board on the financial state of the Organization,
  • Present the annual budget and budget projections to the Board,
  • Ensure that the Organization maintains good financial standing under the laws of Ontario, Canada, the Organization Bylaws, and BGC Canada,
